The aesthetic on Half Mile did not come from a designer. It came from twenty-five years of knowing what I like, approximately forty pounds of charity shop finds, and the fortunate discovery that driftwood is free if you live on a river.
Every object earns its place. Not by being useful but by being meaningful. The crystals face the water. The throws are the colour of the Thames at low tide. The jewellery is laid out on a piece of driftwood because I like to see it, not because it photographs well.
If your home doesn't feel like yours, start small. One surface. Clear everything that doesn't make you feel something. Then notice what you put back. That's your aesthetic. It was there all along.
