The Reset, 6 weeks that actually change something.

The Reset, 6 weeks that actually change something.

Most people arrive at The Reset after trying everything else. The therapy. The journalling. The courses. The spiritual work. Getting all the way to the insight, and then hitting the same wall.

The wall is worth describing, because almost everybody who hits it thinks they are the only one. You can explain your pattern fluently. You know where it started and roughly why. You have language for it that a professional would recognise. And on Tuesday, at about 20 past 4, it happens again exactly as it always has.

That gap is not a failure of effort and it is not a sign you did the other work badly. The other work was doing its job, which was understanding. Understanding is one job. What fires before you can think is a different one.

The Reset is 6 weeks, 1:1, working directly with your inner guidance system. Not the story. Not the intellectual understanding of the pattern. The actual place the pattern lives, in the body, in the automatic responses that fire before your conscious mind catches up.

Week 1 is baseline. Where are you arriving from? What is your inner world doing right now? What does safety feel like in your body, and how long since you genuinely felt it?

That last question is the one that stops people. Most adults cannot answer it, and the not knowing is itself the information. If you have been braced for long enough, braced stops registering as a state and starts registering as you.

By week 3 something often shifts. A decision becomes clear. A pattern stops activating the same response. Your inner guidance system comes back online, and you realise it has been trying to speak to you for a very long time.

I would be careful about reading that as a schedule, by the way. Week 3 is a tendency, not a promise, and there are people for whom the useful week is the fifth and people for whom the first session is the one that does the work. The shape is unreliable. It is the direction that holds.

What makes 6 weeks the right length is more practical than it sounds. 1 session is an experience. People leave a single session feeling considerably better and that feeling has a shelf life of about 9 days, because nothing has been repeated. 6 is enough for something to be noticed, returned to, and noticed again in a different week, which is how anything actually changes.

It is also short enough to see the end of, which matters more than people expect. An open ended arrangement with no finish is a different commitment, and a lot of people cannot make it, so they make none.

Who it suits: people who have done some work already and are frustrated rather than lost. People who can describe the pattern and cannot interrupt it. People who have a life that has to keep running while this happens, which is almost everybody.

Who it does not suit: anybody wanting a curriculum, because there is not one beyond the baseline. Anybody in the middle of something acute, where the right thing is support with a different shape. And anybody hoping to arrive, put it on the table, and be handed a conclusion. You are in the room doing it, not watching it being done.

What the sessions are not is 6 hours of talking about your childhood. Some talking happens, because we have to know what we are dealing with, and sessions start with what is going on for you that week rather than with a history form. But the work itself is done with the body, which is why people often find it easier than they feared and stranger than they expected.

The other thing worth saying plainly is what happens between sessions, because that is where most of it lands. You will usually leave with 1 small thing to do, and it will be something that takes 2 minutes rather than 20. People are frequently disappointed by how small it is. The small ones are the ones that get done.

And the honest caveat. 6 weeks does not finish anybody off. Nothing finishes anybody off, and anyone promising that is selling you a different product. What 6 weeks can do is get the thing moving and leave you able to tell what your own system is doing, which is the difference between being inside a pattern and standing next to one.

As for what it costs, I would rather tell you directly than leave a figure sitting on a page. Ask me and I will give you a straight answer, along with an honest view on whether this is the right thing for you at all.
