Healing & Somatics

Somatic trauma-informed narcissistic abuse coaching

Narcissistic abuse is psychological manipulation involving control, exploitation, and systematic devaluation that erodes a survivor’s reality and self-worth through subtle, insidious tactics. This creates complex trauma symptoms including hypervigilance, chronic anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and somatic complaints, as unpredictable cycles of idealization and devaluation target the nervous system, creating chronic stress activation. Survivors often struggle with boundaries, self-advocacy, and trusting their own perceptions after gaslighting and reality distortion. Trauma-informed healing recognizes that recovery requires more than talk therapy, acknowledging that trauma lives in the body and nervous system. Key principles include establishing safety and stabilization first, restoring agency and choice to rebuild decision-making capacity, addressing nervous system dysregulation, incorporating somatic practices, and rebuilding self-trust after systematic undermining of intuition and perception.

Trauma Release Experience

Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) is a body-based healing modality that activates the body’s natural tremoring mechanism to release stored trauma and tension. Developed by Dr. David Berceli, TRE reconnects humans with the innate capacity all mammals have to discharge stress through involuntary shaking, which we often suppress due to social conditioning. When experiencing stress or trauma, our nervous system creates muscular tension that becomes chronically stored when not properly discharged. TRE consists of six simple exercises that gently fatigue specific muscle groups, particularly the psoas muscles central to stress response, triggering natural tremoring that begins in the legs and pelvis. This involuntary, self-regulating process releases muscular tension, regulates the nervous system by completing interrupted stress responses, and integrates fragmented experiences without requiring verbal processing. For narcissistic abuse survivors, TRE directly addresses nervous system dysregulation underlying trauma symptoms, often leading to reduced anxiety, improved sleep, decreased chronic pain, and increased body awareness while allowing organic healing through the body’s own wisdom.
